The Fur
and Feather was
fished at Pedrera on the 11th December 2007, 17 members turned
up for the draw at 7.30 pm on what was
a very cold and windy morning.
It was a
pleasant surprise to see two members of the Fly fishing fraternity
competing in the event, also a very keen angler but not
noted as a match
angler weighing in for second place, well done Bob.
The
fishing was heavy going with the drop in temperature and only small
weights were recorded but a good day was had by all
complemented by the
refreshments gratefully partaken of at a local restaurant.

anglers turned up to fish the match and it was decided to place the first
six pegs on the first stretch as you enter the
vicinity of the lake rather
than fish the (cold side).
Fish
were hard come by no matter what peg had been dawn on what was a cloudy
and gray day, the rain managed
to hold of until the end of the match.

of the wet conditions of the ground,
making it impossible to access with anything other than four wheel dive
vehicles.

Monday 25th. of June saw ten
keen anglers contest round seven of the Evening Series at the Embalse De
La Pedrera. The
weather was blistering hot, so much so that Bob Waite was
seen taking a cooling dip in the lake. Some said he was after
his fishing
rod, again, which had again jumped of the rests, but a cooling dip was
probably the real reason for t
he unscheduled immersion.
Dave Hutchinson and Terry Screen matched
each other fish for fish throughout the match but at the whistle Dave
scaled
8.24 kilos for first place and the ten points, with Terry Screen
only just behind with 8.04 kilos for second place and
Bob Wells made the
top three with 7.86 kilos.

Beniarres.
The top 2 people in the
running for the cup were Terry Screen and Den Pick with very little
between them.
Terry fished the
bagging waggler for the first 3 hours until the wind got up and he changed
to the ground bait feeder
and sweet corn.
Den Pick fished his
favorite style the method feeder and sweet corn.

SUMMER LEAGUE ROUND 5
It was a return visit to the
picturesque Embalse at Beniarres on Thursday 21st of June for
round five of the Summer
League match series. Fourteen anglers
travelled to the match and were rewarded with cracking day’s fishing with
the
added bonus of cooler than expected
conditions due to the increased elevation of the venue. The ‘Ton Up’ boys
were
in evidence once again as Dennis
Pick and Terry Screen battled it out for first place. Dennis eventually
scaled 49.59
kilos for a well deserved first place
and 10 points. Terry Screen was second with 47.64 kilos and Peter Kerr was
third
with 35.90 kilos. It was very close for
the next few places with Nigel Maurant on 27.86 kilos, Roy Buttress on 27.28
kilos, Bob Wells on 27.26 kilos,
Alan Reid on 26.93 kilos and Dave Hutchinson on 25.70 kilos.
