A reminder to the Members wishing to fish in Club Matches in the Murcia Region, to compete in such matches we now find we are legally required to be members of the Murcia Federation, to join the Federation members must present the following documents, good photocopies of Residencia or Passport, NIE number letter, Club Membership Card, and License for the Murcia Region, these should be passed to the club treasurer or club secretary as soon as possible with the fee of 30 euros.

Away Days

Further away days will be arranged and posted as they become available

The third of the interclub matches with La Marina's Rods and Reels will be fished on the 25th February 2009

Winter League Matches

The venue for Thursday the 8th of January 2009 will be  the Sweet Water Canal at the rear of Nancy's Night Club, draw on the bank at 7.15am

CARPRUS MATCH RESULTS by Terry Screen

 

Xmas is here again and Thursday 11^th December saw the annual Fur & Feather contest held on Pedrera with 24 fishermen taking part, but unfortunately only 5 managed to catch fish.

17 people were pegged on the calm side and 7 on Barbel Bay with a head on strong wind, mobile phone calls were being sent from one side to the other confirming only Pete Hutchison had caught a Barbel. So I decided to fish the whip 6metres to hand for the bleak, perseverance in the wind gave me the top weight of 2.760kg

2^nd Pete ( Essex Boy) Hutchison on the feeder with 1 Barbel of 1.840kg

3^rd Alan (Website) Reid on the feeder and maggot with 1.420kg

4^th Bob (The Gent ) Elms fishing the feeder with 0.920kg

5^th Harold (GWR) Barlow fishing the feeder with 2 bleak and 0.100kg

 

 Hot food was laid on at The Castilla bar afterwards and every fisherman that came there received a bottle of whisky.

BEWARE A Warning to you all

Paul Baxter was fishing on the Sweet Water Canal and a Foreign gent asked him for a cigarette, which he gave him, when he came to pack up he realized that his jacket had been stolen along with his car keys and mobile phone which was in the pocket.

Sometimes luck is on your side as after the match Bill Reade from Rod & Reels was on his way home and at La Marina Island he noticed what looked like a blue and green jacket. He decided to go back and sure enough it was Pauls jacket with the car keys intact but no mobile.

Which goes to prove that there is a fisherman's guardian angel  up there watching over us!!!??
