Carp R Us ANGLING and social club Carp
R Us was formed in November 2004 by six local anglers in Ciudad
Quesada. The idea of the club was to provide:

Security for members when out fishing
in remote areas. There have been many reports of vandalism to cars at
the most popular venues, including the Rio Segura and the Embalse de
la Pedrera.

A meeting of like minded people to
enhance the experience of fishing in a group. Exchanging knowledge and
ideas to aid the progress of each member.
|
Cost reductions by providing
opportunities for car sharing, bulk buying and discounts on tackle
when a suitable tackle dealer can be found.
|
A social environment in which the wives
and partners can participate, enlarging everyone’s group of friends.
Social evenings, Quiz nights and an annual Christmas dinner dance are
some of the activities on the social calendar.

A programme of monthly outings and club
matches has been arranged, interclub matches with a nearby local club
and a future international match with a group of Spanish anglers.

New members are taken round and
introduced to the local waters, helped with the process of obtaining licenses
for both Valencia and Murcia venues.
|
The club is actively seeking a water of
its own but in this area it is not easy. One water is now available to
club members on a trial basis and the search goes on.
|
Club meetings are held on the 1st and
3rd Sunday of the month, attendance averages around 50 members. a programme of
instruction groupings is being initiated to improve skill levels.

A booklet on ‘how to get there’,
including maps And route details are available to all members, for
venues in both Valencia and Murcia.
