From Orihuela take the Auto-Route A7-E15 sign posted for Murcia. Then follow the signs for the N430-E15, bearing right at Junction 391. Turn right at Junction 651 onto the C415 sign posted Mula and Cehegin. Turn right at Junction 33 onto the B330 sign posted Cieza.

In approximately 2km. turn left at offset cross road onto the MU552 sign posted Calasparra and in approximately 18km turn right sign posted Embalse De Alfonso X111 (watch out for this turning as to comes just after a blind bend). The road is good but narrow so watch out for oncoming traffic. Carry on for about 4km and on your right you will see a few green ‘wheelie bins’, take the gravel track in front of these bins and then bear to your left and you will come to various areas all close to the waters edge.

Carp, Barbel and Black Bass are all reported to inhabit this water. A Murcia license is required to fish this Embalse.
